Our story

From a single freelance desk to a studio of nine

Jennifer Karen Patterson started WP Clerks in 2016 after a decade of managing websites for regional retailers and clinics. The pattern was always the same: a business paid for a beautiful site, the agency moved on, and eighteen months later the site was slow, out of date and one plugin vulnerability away from disaster.

WP Clerks was built to fill that gap. Not a design shop chasing the next launch — a care studio that treats an existing website as an asset worth protecting. We started with eleven clients in Fayette County. Ten years on we look after 412 websites across the United States, and roughly three out of four new clients still come from a referral.

We remain deliberately small. Every client has a named account lead, every phone call reaches someone who can read a server log, and every recommendation we make has to survive one question: would we spend our own money on this?
